You'll find that a lot of drone service companies don't publish set prices online. There's a really good reason for that and it's because every job is different. We've found that typically only about 20% of the time spent on a job is actually on site and flying. The other 80% is spent on flight planning and post-production editing. The flight planning and preparation in particular will be very different depending on the type of job, the location and proximity to buildings, airports and people. Some flights will need special permissions and all that adds to the costs.
BUT, we're not like other drone companies! We've got a rate card that will give you a pretty good ide of what a typical job will cost. You can view the rate card here.
Of course, you can drop us a line with a bit of detail about the work and location and we'll get back to you with a quote as soon as possible.
Cost, speed and quality. Using a drone saves you hiring a helicopter or erecting scaffolding! Our drones can capture stunning ultra-high definition 4K footage and beautiful 20 Megapixel photographs from previously impossible perspectives. It's quick, maneouverable and can get very close to target objects (it can even fly indoors). We can fly manually or we can pre-program a flight before we even get to site. So, using a drone is a perfect solution to a huge variety of job requirements.
Absolutely, yes. We have Permissions for Commercial Operations (PfCO) from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) which is, in effect, the "licence" that anyone in the UK has to have in order to fly drones as a business. You can check our permissions document here.
Crikey, yes. We have £1,000,000 public liability insurance specifically for drone flights. You can check our insurance policy here.
Well, yes you can. But, remember it's illegal to fly a drone for commercial purposes without Permission for Commercial Operations (PfCO) from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). So you'll need to have someone in your business who's completed the necessary courses and has the required permissions otherwise you might be breaking the law. We'd always recommend using a profession drone services company like us.
Yes you could but... remember they'll need Permission for Commercial Operations (PfCO) from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) otherwise you might be asking them to break the law. Again, we'd always recommend using a professional drone services company like us.
The actual range of the drones we use is up to about 3 miles. But, under the CAA standard permissions all drone operators must maintain visual contact with the drone and can only fly up to 500m from the drone operator. This gives a circular area of 1km diameter for our operations which is more than adequate for most jobs.
In theory, our drones can reach altitudes of well over 5,000ft. But, under the CAA standard permissions any drone operator has to maintain visual contact with the drone and can only fly up to an altitude of 120m (400ft).
Unfortunately no. The electronics in our drones are a bit sensitive so we can't fly in rain, snow or strong winds (over 20mph). We'll always check the weather forecast before a shoot and if it isn't looking good enough to fly on the scheduled date, we'll try to arrange an alternative date with you unless it's an event like a wedding of course. We don't charge any additional fees for cancelling or rearranging shoots due to bad weather.
We primarily use DJI Phantom 4 Pro drones. We've found them to be the perfect balance between size & maneouverability, reliability and image quality.
We can generally supply video or photos in whatever file format you'd prefer. For photos it's usually JPEG and for videos it's usually MP4 or MOV. We can also supply the unedited 'raw' files if you'd prefer to do your own editing.
We'll send you a link to a secure file sharing service for you to download your files as soon as they're ready.
Yes. We do some basic editing on all aerial photos and video footage as standard. We can do a full edit if required or, if you just want the raw photos or footage you can edit the shots or footage yourself or use another professional. We're completely flexible.
We aim to provide a maximum seven day turnaround from being on site to delivering the edited files. But, we're usually much quicker than that if the post-production requirement is straightforward. We can usually expedite things too if you're in a rush for something so just let us know.
